Misunderstanding - Patt

Blair had been walking on air for the last two weeks. He was so happy and content, it was unreal. He never dreamed in a million years that he and Jim would be lovers. It all happened two weeks ago when they were out with the guys from Major Crime. Jim had too much to drink and was very talkative. When they got home, he put the moves on Blair and Blair reciprocated. Blair had wanted Jim for a long time and was thrilled that Jim wanted to take him into his bed. They had been fucking each other like crazy ever since. Jim almost acted like he couldn’t get enough of Blair and that didn’t bother Blair in the least. They hadn’t told anyone at work yet, because Jim said he wanted to keep it quiet for awhile. So Blair, being Blair went along with it. He didn’t want to make any waves.

As he walked towards the break room, he heard Rafe say, “You know, I had never seen you drunk before that night two weeks ago.”

“That’s because I don’t usually get drunk. I lose control and that’s not a good thing. Sometimes, I totally lose it and question my thinking later,” Jim said almost laughing.

“Well, you seem none the worse for it now, Ellison. You look and act fine. So you must not have done anything too stupid,” Rafe said.

Blair stood outside the break room door, leaning against the wall, trying to calm down. Did Jim just say he did stupid things when he got drunk? Was he rethinking the whole sleeping with his partner thing?

“Yeah, well, I’m not getting drunk like that again. I was stupid that night and I apologize if I said or did anything to you. I might regret some things I said or did,” Jim said quickly.

“Hey man, you were cool. You didn’t insult anyone,” Rafe assured him.

“Good, I was hoping that I didn’t make a fool out of myself. I asked Sandburg, but he wouldn’t tell me the truth. He’s too nice,” Jim said laughing.

Rafe laughed too and the two of them walked over to the coffee machine and got some much needed caffeine.

[[[[[ ]]]]]

Blair walked away from the doorway and didn’t know what to do. Maybe it wasn’t such a good thing to sleep with your partner. He had no where to go. Blair walked up to Simon’s office door and knocked.

“Come on in, Sandburg. Please tell me there is nothing wrong with Jim,” Simon said frowning.

“No, sir. There is something wrong with me. I’m really sick. I wondered if I could go home.” Blair just stood there looking lost and Simon really looked at him for once.

“You do look pale, Sandburg. Go on, take the day off and I’ll see you tomorrow,” Simon walked him to the elevator and saw him get on. He smiled and said, “Feel better soon.”

“Thanks, man,” Blair said as the doors were shutting.

Blair realized as he got downstairs that he didn’t bring his car that day. He had ridden with his lover. Stop thinking lover. He didn’t really want to be your lover, he made a mistake. He was drunk and didn’t know what he was doing.

The sad Guide walked out to the street and called a cab. He didn’t have to wait long and he got in and rode off. He leaned his head back and thought of all of the wonderful times they had had in the last two weeks and wondered why Jim acted like he enjoyed it. Blair found himself very confused.

[[[[[ ]]]]]

Jim walked out and saw the empty chair where Blair had been sitting and walked up to Simon’s door and knocked.

Simon opened it and said, “What?”

“Have you seen Sandburg?” Jim asked.

“Don’t you two ever talk to each other? He left for the day, he said he was sick. You being a Sentinel and all, you would think you would have picked up on that,” Simon said very sarcastically.

“He was fine when I went in to get us some coffee. Fifteen minutes later, he’s sick? I don’t believe that. Did he look upset about something?” Now Jim was officially worried.

“He was pale, but not worried. He just looked sick. So he left for the day. Now if you don’t mind, I’ve got things to do.” Simon almost pushed Jim out of the doorway.

“Simon, he didn’t drive today, he rode with me. Don’t you find that strange?”

“It might be strange, but he said he was sick and I believed him. Now that you mention it, he did look a little upset about something. And pale, did I mention pale?” Simon hoped Jim would go back to his desk soon, but he knew it was too late, Jim was worried.

“Could I go and check on him, sir?”

“Sir? You must really be serious.” Simon kidded.

“When I want you to listen to me.” Jim was practically pacing, in the doorway, if that was possible.

“He’s gone for the day, just leave him be. He’ll be fine. Now go back to work and get that file ready for court tomorrow.” Simon didn’t leave any room for argument, so Jim walked over and sat down. Instead of getting the file ready, he called Blair’s cell phone.

After four rings, Blair’s voice mail picked it up and Jim left a short message, “Chief, call me when you get this, okay? I’m worried about you and Simon won’t let me take off to go and check on you. So I have to wait until tonight. Please call me and let me know you’re all right.”

Jim put his phone away and started to work on getting the file ready for court. Rafe walked by and said, “Hey, did you hear that Sandburg left early?”

“How in the hell do you know that when I just found out?” Jim wondered.

“Conner just told me that she saw him on the elevator and he looked really upset. She wondered what you did to him.” Rafe said as he walked over to his own desk.

Jim got up and walked over to Conner and said, “Blair looked upset?”

“Yeah, Jimbo, he did. What did you do this time? One minute we were talking and he said he wanted to get some coffee and the next minute he was leaving the station. What did you say to him?”

“Honestly Conner, I didn’t even see him. I didn’t talk to him at all,” Jim assured her.

“Well, something upset him, that’s for sure. And Simon wouldn’t have asked, because Simon is Simon. He doesn’t want to know.” Conner started working on her computer and ignored Jim.

Jim continued to stand there and asked, “He went to get coffee?”

“Yes, he went to get coffee and then looked like someone poured coffee on his keyboard or something. He was upset,” Conner said.

“I’ll talk to you later,” Jim said as he walked to his desk. Did Blair overhear me talking to Rafe about being drunk and doing stupid things? I didn’t mean with Blair, I meant in general. Fuck…

[[[[[ ]]]]]

Blair got home and began to pack his things. He had no idea where he was going, but he couldn’t stay somewhere that he wasn’t wanted. He could have swore that Jim wanted him, but he must have been putting on an act.

Now I have to find an apartment, but in the meantime, I’m going to get a motel room and stay there for a few days until I get this straightened out. I’ll call Simon and tell him that I can’t be in for four days. That way I have time to get some things taken care of.

Blair packed quickly and got all of his things out of Jim’s room. Shit, I just moved in there. I have to move from the only home I’ve ever really had. He took four trips down to his car and locked up the loft. He would leave the key with Jim later.

Blair walked sadly down the stairs, a broken man. I told him I loved him. He never said he loved me back, but I told him. I’m such a fool.

Blair drove off in search of a cheap motel and tried to forget the pain that was in his stomach and his chest. His heart, literally hurt. He should have known better.

[[[[[ ]]]]]

Jim left four more messages on Blair’s phone, but still no call back. At 5:00, Jim walked up to Simon’s door and knocked.

“Come in, Jim.”

“Simon, I’ve got everything ready for tomorrow, could I leave now?” Jim asked hopefully.

“Yes, get out of here and check on that partner of yours. I hope he’ll be in tomorrow.”

Just then Rhonda buzzed Simon’s office to tell him that Blair Sandburg was on the line. Jim stood where he was, hoping he could hear where Blair was and what he was doing.

“Banks,” Simon barked.

“Simon, I really feel shitty. I’m going to need a few days off. Four would be perfect. Would that be all right?” Blair was asking, but hoped that Simon would pick up on the urgency.

“Are you all right?” Simon asked.

“I’ll live. I’ll see you after four days,” Blair said before he closed his cell phone.

“What the fuck?” Jim asked.

“What did you say to him, Ellison? You must have pissed him off big time,” Simon figured.

“Honestly, I don’t know. But Conner thinks I said something to him too. I didn’t even talk to him before he left, so that can’t be it.”

“Did you say anything that would have hurt his feelings if he overheard it?” Simon asked.

“I don’t think so,” Jim guessed incorrectly.

“But you don’t know so?” Simon already knew that Jim had done or said something stupid. He could just feel it.

“I might have said something, but I don’t think it would have upset him for any reason.” Jim started to pace in the office.

“Why don’t you go home and talk to him?” Simon suggested.

“He’s not going to be there. He already moved, I can tell,” Jim said.

“All right, he’s one of my officers; do I need to know something here?” Simon almost dreaded asking this. He could tell that Jim was more upset about this then he should be.

“I’ll let you know if there is anything to report,” Jim said before he walked out of Simon’s office.

Simon grabbed Jim’s arm and said, “Get the fuck back in here.”

Jim walked in awkwardly and said, “What?”

Simon shut the door and said, “Two weeks ago, you were drunk as a skunk and hitting on Sandburg in front of everyone. He blew it off, but you hit on him at home didn’t you?”

“That’s all you’re going to say is yes?” Simon bellowed.

“It’s no one’s business and I don’t feel like I have to tell you everything I do or say.”

“Oh for Christ’s sake… That’s why he’s been so happy lately. You two are sleeping together aren’t you? And just what did you do to fuck it up already?”

Jim began pacing again and said, “Yes, we’re sleeping together and I have no idea what I did. I went in to get coffee for us and ended up talking to Rafe, but I didn’t say anything bad. I said that I tend to not get drunk too much because I do stupid things that I regret later. That’s all.”

“That’s all? Jim, you just shot him down. You said you do stupid things when you’re drunk and later regret them. What more would you have to say to get him thinking about you making a mistake?”

“Jesus Christ. I was talking about being sick the next day. I wasn’t talking about being with Blair. I adore him. He means the world to me. Now how in the hell am I going to find him?” Jim wondered aloud.

“Ask Conner to call him for you and get the address. She can tell him that she wants to take him out for dinner. Then go and see him. Beg for his forgiveness,” Simon commanded.

“Okay…” Jim took off like a bat out of hell. He didn’t even bother to notice what Simon thought about he and Blair being a couple. He didn’t fucking care.

He found Conner waiting to get on the elevator and said, “Can you do me a favor?”

“Sure, what do you need?” Conner asked.

“I said something in the break room that Blair might have overheard and misconstrued. I need you to call him and ask him if he’d like to go to dinner with you tonight. Tell him you know he’s upset.” Jim hoped that she would do this without any questions, but he doubted that very much.

“Oh my God, you’re sleeping with him? I knew it. He’s been so fucking happy lately that he’s hard to live with. But what did you say?” Conner asked.

“Conner, I told Rafe that I get drunk and do stupid things that I regret later. I was talking about being sick the next day, not being with Blair. But he must have thought I meant being with him was a mistake.” Jim looked so lost that Conner would have a hard time not doing this.

She pulled out her cell phone and dialed Blair.

“What do you want Conner?” Blair questioned.

“Is that any way to talk to someone that knows you’re upset, Sandy? And I also know that the jerk said or did something to make you feel this way. How would you like to go for dinner tonight and we’ll talk?”

“We could meet at Saccony’s if you really want to talk.” Blair hoped she wasn’t doing this as some type of joke, because he really needed someone to talk to.

“How about at 7:00? Would that work for you?” Conner asked, trying not to laugh.

“Okay, I’ll see you then. Thanks, Conner.”

“You’re welcome. We’ll have a good talk, Sandy. Sometimes that’s all it takes.”

“I’ll see you at 7:00. Thanks,” Blair said before he closed the cell phone.

“So where is he?” Jim asked.

“You could hear what he said and he didn’t say where he was. I just know where he’s going to be at 7:00 tonight. I figured if I would have asked too many questions, he would have known you were standing here with me. So I’ll go at 7:00 and pave the way for your 7:30 appearance.

“Thank you, Conner.” Jim hugged her very quickly and dashed into the elevator when it opened.

“Are you two at the I Love You stage?” Conner inquired.

“Not quite yet,” Jim answered.

Conner just shook her head and smiled. These two men were beyond cute and stupid. She knew that Blair was totally hooked on Jim and loved him like crazy. She also knew that Jim loved Blair. He just had to admit to it. God men can be so dense sometimes. Gay or straight.

[[[[[ ]]]]]

When Jim arrived home, he found most of Blair’s belongings gone and it broke his heart. Why didn’t he confront me with his fears? We could have stopped all of this before it happened. I can’t believe he is that insecure. Haven’t I made him feel like he makes me happy or that I’m crazy about him? He didn’t even leave a note.

Jim got his clean clothes and decided to take a quick shower before he met Conner and Blair at Saccony’s. It was one of the quickest showers in history. He hoped that Blair wouldn’t make a scene at Saccony’s. It was one of their favorite places and he didn’t want to get thrown out of it.

Jim got dressed and looked in the mirror. “Not bad, if I do say so myself. He’s going to want me back in this outfit.”

Blair had bought the tight black jeans and the gray tee shirt that fit him like a glove. Jim wanted to remind him of what he was going to be getting. He knew he looked good in the outfit. Mostly because Blair had told him as much.

At 7:00 Jim left the loft, to go and wait in the parking lot of Saccony’s until 7:30. He hoped he wouldn’t run into Blair ahead of time. He needed some more time to think of what to say.

[[[[[ ]]]]]

Jim arrived in time to see Blair walking into the restaurant and getting into the booth with Conner. Now Jim just had to sit back and do a little bit of listening.

[[[[[ ]]]]]

Conner sat at Saccony’s, in her very own booth and waited for Blair. When he arrived, he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. “You’re the only one that noticed that anything was wrong. Thank you for taking some time out of your evening to talk to me.”

“Okay, you have my attention. What’s going on with you and Jim? Did you break up?” Conner asked ever so casually.

“You knew we were a couple?” Blair was thrown off guard.

“Everyone thinks you’re a couple. I knew it for sure because you’ve been so friggin happy at work lately. It’s enough to make someone like me smack you upside the head.”

“I was happy, but not any more,” Blair confessed looking as sad as a person could possibly look.

“So what happened? You looked fine early in the day and then you just left. What happened in between that time?” Conner wanted to get him talking so he wouldn’t guess that Jim was coming. She knew about Jim’s senses, so she knew he was probably out there listening as they spoke.

“He told Rafe that he regretted sleeping with me. He didn’t say that, he just said he regretted the mistakes he made when he drank too much. And that’s when we first slept together. So I knew he regretted that,” Blair explained.

“And do you suppose he might have been talking about something else at the time? He’s been just as happy as you’ve been, so I don’t think he was talking about regretting sleeping with you. It must have been something else. Was there anything else he did that night or next day that he would have regretted?”

“Well, he was sick as a dog. He puked all morning long and I’m sure he regretted that.” Blair started thinking about it and realized that might have been what Jim was talking about.

“That’s probably what he was talking about,” Conner said.

“I can’t believe I didn’t give him a chance to defend himself. I moved out for Christ’s sake. It’s not like he’s going to forgive me for that.” Blair was so anxious, he didn’t even notice Jim come up to the table.

“Hey Conner. Hey Chief. Do you mind if we have a little talk?” Jim asked quietly.

Conner smiled and said, “No, I don’t mind at all.”

Blair tapped her in the arm and said, “I think he’s talking to me.”

“Yes, I’m talking to you, Blair. Now if Conner will excuse us, I have a few things I want to say.” Conner stood up and Jim moved into the spot across from Blair.

“Jim, I think I did something really dumb,” Blair started the conversation.

“Oh you think so? What was your first clue, Chief?”

“Well, I overheard you telling Rafe about regretting something about doing things when you get drunk or something. And I thought you were talking about us.”

“I said I might regret things I said or did. One of them was getting so drunk that I was sick all morning long. We could have been fucking like crazy, but no, I was in the bathroom sicker than a dog. That’s what I regretted. I would never regret being with you.” Jim sat back and watched the smile appear on Blair’s face and felt somewhat better about everything.

“Can I move back home?” Blair asked pitifully.

“Yeah, I’ll follow you over there, wherever there is and we’ll get everything now.”

Jim got up and Blair said, “Sit down. We’re going to eat first. I’m hungry, aren’t you?”

“I figured we could get a sandwich on the way home and then we can put everything away and make love all night long.” Jim stood up once again, this time being followed by Blair.

Jim put a $50.00 bill on the table for their trouble and they walked out hand in hand. When they got to Blair’s car, Jim said, “I’ve never told you before, but I’m in love with you.”

“And you decided to tell me outside a restaurant?”

“I just didn’t want you to think I didn’t love you. I do.” Jim pulled Blair in for a much needed kiss and finally broke for both of them to breathe. “I’ll see you over at the motel.”

“You got it, Jim. Oh I wanted to mention you look terrific, in the jeans and tee shirt.”

Jim smiled because he knew that Blair would notice. And he was happy he did.

Blair got into his car and started the engine first thing. He wanted to be ready to leave as soon as Jim was. He couldn’t stop smiling. Everything would work out all right. Well, hopefully anyhow. They probably still had to do some talking, but Blair was ready. He drove out of the parking lot with his Sentinel on his tail. Blair smiled at the thought of Jim on his tail.

Jim saw Blair smiling in the rear view mirror and it made him smile too. They had a lot to discuss, but things were going in the right direction this time. At least Blair was moving back home and there weren’t any arguments or more leaving. Things would work out well, Jim just knew it.

[[[[[ ]]]]]

When they arrived at the loft, it took two trips for each of them to bring everything back up. Jim couldn’t believe how quickly Blair had packed his shit up and left. That still bothered him somewhat. They would talk about it.

“Jim, I see the wheels turning in your head. Stop… There is smoke coming out of your ears. We’ll discuss all of this as the night goes on. Could we just eat and make out tonight?”

Jim started to argue, but decided that making out sounded like a hell-of-a-good time. So instead, he smiled and said, “Sure, let’s grab our sandwiches and eat.”

Jim grabbed the sub sandwiches and got them each a beer and brought them into the living room. “Sit,” Jim ordered.

Blair did just that and they began to eat their sandwiches and drank some of their beer. The night was moving along as planned, as far as Blair was concerned.

“You know what? I’m still a little angry that you just left without even leaving me a fucking note.” Jim set his sandwich down, got up and began to pace.

“I told you, I misunderstood what happened. What you said sounded a lot differently in the hallway then it does now. I’m sorry, there isn’t anymore I can say then that. Are you going to be mad all night long?” Blair batted his eyelashes at his lover and knew he had him.

“No, I’m not going to be mad all night long. I love you too much to stay mad for long at all. But we need to start discussing things. You told me right away that you loved me, and I dragged my feet on it. Why didn’t you ask me if I loved you?”

“To tell you the truth, I didn’t want to rock the boat. I was having fun; you were having fun, why make problems?” Blair hoped that Jim would understand.

“From now on, ask if you have a question,” Jim said sternly.

“All right. Here’s one. How long have you loved me?”

Jim thought a moment and said, “I think for about six months. I’m not sure when the feeling first hit me. But I know it was a while back.” He sat back down next to Blair.

Blair smiled hugely and said, “You’ve been in love with me all of that time? Why didn’t you come to me?”

“I didn’t have enough nerve. I’m a coward sometimes and I’m not proud of it.” Jim wanted Blair to believe him in the worst way.

“We’re both idiots, aren’t we? We never discussed this. We just hopped into bed and fucked like rabbits.” It was Blair’s turn to get up and pace now.

Jim smiled at him and said, “I don’t believe that we’ve ever fucked like rabbits. We’re much slower and sexier.”

This time Blair laughed and sat back down next to Jim. Jim put his arm around Blair and pulled him as close as he could. “Want to go upstairs and make love, Blair?”

“Why yes, I do. Let me go clean up really fast,” Blair said as he jumped off the sofa and went running for the bathroom.

Jim laughed outright at the sight and walked upstairs to get ready for bed. When Blair came walking up the stairs, he was naked and hard as a rock. Jim was also naked and hard. Both men laughed at the sight of each other’s hard member.

“Someone was thinking about fucking me while I was in the bathroom,” Blair teased.

“You know it. And I take it you were thinking about the same thing,” Jim joked.

“Actually I was thinking about something else that I’d like to talk to you about,” Blair interposed.

Jim looked strangely at Blair because he had heard Blair’s heartbeat speed up and his temperature was rising. “Are you nervous about something?” Jim finally asked.

“Yes, just say you’ll think about what I’m going to ask you.” Blair lay down on the bed and waited for Jim to join him.

It didn’t take long. Jim slid right next to him and said, “So ask.”

“We’ve been together for two weeks now, and I know that you love me and you know that I love you, but I was wondering if we could change things a little bit,” Blair asked nervously.

“Just ask, Blair.” Jim could tell how nervous Blair was and that upset him to think that just talking about something would bother him that much.

“I was wondering if at some time, I could fuck you.” Blair hurried up and asked and hoped that Jim wasn’t going to get angry.

“To tell you the truth, I’m surprised it took you this long. I thought maybe it didn’t appeal to you.”

“You thought that your ass wouldn’t appeal to me? What? Are you nuts?” Blair kidded.

“Well, it’s been two weeks and I thought I might have to ask you to fuck me.” Jim smiled at his lover and saw Blair instantly relax.

“You really wouldn’t mind?” Blair asked hopefully.

“I’ve never done it, but I trust you and would love to give my ass to you. Want to make love now?” Jim asked happily.

“Oh Jesus, a virgin bottom? Holy shit.” Blair was excited.

“And speaking of that. Let me get cleaned up for you and then we’ll get down to business.” Jim rushed down the stairs, leaving a very happy partner behind.

[[[[[ ]]]]]

God, I’ve never done this before. I wonder if he’ll notice? I can’t believe he’s going to let me fuck him. This is like a dream come true. Oh fuck it, it is a dream come true. It’s my dream and my dream lover.

Blair looked down at himself and saw his cock was soft. He knew he was nervous and would have to get over that, if it ever wanted to get inside of Jim. That thought made his dick a little happier and it was coming back to life. By the time Jim came up, he was hard and ready to go again.

Jim smiled as he slid into bed next to Blair. “You nervous?”

“How do you know this shit?” Blair asked.

“Because I can hear your heartbeat speed up and I wasn’t up here, so I figured you might be nervous. Is this your first time being on top?” Jim questioned.

“Jim, I am nervous and yes, this is my first time topping. I love you so much, babe.” Blair pulled Jim into his arms and began to kiss him.

Jim could sense that Blair needed the hug, so he just let Blair hold him until he could feel little Blair getting hard again.

“How would you like to do this, babe?” Jim asked. “On my knees?”

“No, I want to see your face. I want to fuck you like you fuck me, with your legs around my waist. Would that be all right?” Blair asked.

“That would be dandy. I know someone that could use a blow job to calm him down a little bit,” Jim suggested.

“Are you nervous, Jim?”

“Anxious, is all.”

“Let me calm you down, big guy.” Blair pushed Jim over on his back and pushed his legs apart, getting in between Jim’s legs easily. He kissed his way down to Jim’s cock and finally took it into his mouth and began to suck and lick until Jim was squirming around on the bed. Blair knew that he gave good blow jobs, because someone had told him that once, so he used everything he knew to make Jim come and come quickly. Without any warning, Jim shot his hot seed down Blair’s warm, inviting throat.

Blair got the lube out and started stretching with one finger, just as Jim had done with him many, many times. While he was doing the stretching, he began to lick Jim’s cock again and noticed he was coming back to life already. Who says older men aren’t hot as hell?

Before long, Jim was pleading with Blair to fuck him, so Blair figured he must have been doing it right. “Jim, if it hurts you tell me and I’ll pull out.”

“Just fuck me already. I’m waiting.” Jim instructed.

Blair started to push into Jim’s hot hole and almost came in the first five seconds. “Oh God, Jim. This feels terrific. I’m going to come already.”

“Slow down, Chief. Just think about something else for a moment and take deep breaths, then when you get control I want you to fuck me hard,” Jim advised.

Blair followed Jim’s advice and was able to get in all the way before he almost came. “Jesus, you feel good. I can’t believe this is how it feels. No wonder you like fucking me.”

Jim said, “Stop talking and start fucking.”

Blair did just that. He took a hold of Jim’s gorgeous hips and held on tight as he pounded into his lover’s hot hole. Every now and then he knew he was doing it right because he would brush over Jim’s prostate and Jim would howl with enjoyment. Blair just kept it up until Jim reached over and fisted his own cock and came all over the two of them. Blair couldn’t believe how awesome that felt, Jim’s ass milking his own orgasm right out of him. Blair came so hard, he thought his head would explode.

“Oh man, you have a great ass.” Blair was still lying on top of Jim, trying to get his breathing back under control.

“You did a really good job, Chief. I usually last a little longer than that. You made me really hot for you.”

“I was glad to do it. God, you’ve created a monster. I want to do it again.” Blair kissed Jim’s neck and started licking the sweat off of him.

“Keep doing that and you’ll get your way,” Jim said sexily.

“I love you.” Blair thought he would mention it.

“I love you.”

“I’m going to pull out now.” Blair figured he would warn Jim.

Blair slid out of Jim and felt the loss immediately. “God that was so much fun. I loved it. So we get to take turns from now on, right?”

Jim reached over and got the wipes to clean them up with. “Yes, we can always take turns. You don’t always get to be the top. I get to fuck you sometimes,” Jim joked.

They cleaned each other up and then lay in each other’s arms. Jim was the first one to say something again. “It felt really, really good, Chief.”

“I’m so glad. I was scared to death, but you helped me with talking about fucking. You’re a dirty talker and it makes me hotter than hell.”

“I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for bed. We have to work in the morning. I have to be in court. You are going to work, right?” Jim asked suddenly a little nervous.

“Sure… No reason to stay home if you’re not here.”

Jim felt much better and pulled Blair closer than ever and said, “Thank you for being such a good partner.”

“You’re most welcome.”

Jim started to pull away and said, “I have to shut all the lights out and lock up. I’ll be right back.”

Blair smiled as he watched him walk away, loving the look of Jim’s ass and knowing that it could be his again tomorrow if he played his cards right.

Jim came back up into the dark room and said, “Yes, you can fuck me tomorrow. It was that much fun.”

“Oh goody,” Blair said as he started to fall asleep in Jim’s arms.

Jim had a feeling he had created a monster, but he didn’t much care as long as he was his monster.

[[[[[ ]]]]]

The following day they came walking into the bullpen and Simon said, “Sandburg, I thought you were taking four days off because you were sick.”

“It must have been something I ate. I’m better now. Did you want me to leave again?” Blair kidded his boss.

“No, there is a lot of work for you to do, while your partner is in court. So do it.” Simon put his cigar back in his mouth and began to chew on it, all the way back to his office.

Jim grabbed his things and said, “See you later, Chief. I’ll take you out to dinner tonight after court is over.”

“Okay, thanks, man.”

Conner walked over and said, “I see things are back to normal. I’m glad to see it.”

“Thanks, Conner,” Blair replied.

“You look happier than you ever have. What happened? Share with Auntie Megan,” Conner teased.

“I can’t share that type of thing with you. Sorry,” Blair whispered.

Jim was waiting by the elevator and walked over to Conner’s desk and said, “Chief, don’t forget we’re doing the same things we did last night, tonight. So don’t forget about catching up on all of the paperwork. I can’t wait.”

Conner smiled at Blair after Jim left the bullpen and she said, “He let you top didn’t he? Damn, but you guys are so easy to figure out.”

“Shhhhh. I don’t want anyone else to know,” Blair pleaded.

“Mum’s the word. I’m glad you showed him a good time, Sandy.”

“God, it was fun,” Blair said laughing. “And I get to do it again tonight.”

“Get your work done, then.” Conner went back to her work and Blair gladly went back to his. This day was going to take forever, but that night was going to be worth it.

Blair loved Jim and Jim loved Blair. Life couldn’t get any better then that.
